Accountant IV

This position is located in Tallahassee. This is a position within the Financial Reporting section within the Bureau of Financial Management Services. This position assists the Financial Reporting Supervisor in financial reporting by ensuring compliance with all applicable governmental accounting pronouncements and standards, statutes, rules, regulations, and policies, and procedures.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform Investment and Divestment Functions Daily
• Provide daily and monthly Accounting Reports
• Reconcile Investment and Divestments at least monthly
• Perform Inter-Agency Transfer Confirmations Quarterly
• Insurance
• Serves as FLAIR and RDS Access Control Custodian
• Service Charge to General Revenue
• Other Duties

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of and ability to accurately apply accounting standards, theory, principles, concepts and practices.
• Ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data/information and apply appropriate guidelines and regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing across a broad audience spectrum.
• Experience with using accounting systems and other business-related applications such as Access Control, RDS, and FLAIR (preferred).
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis in Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to provide prompt, reliable, accurate and courteous customer service.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Other job-related requirements for this position:

• Level II background check required.
• This position requires sedentary work with repetitive motion.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Three (3) years of accounting experience
• Two (2) years of FLAIR experience
• Three (3) years of financial statement preparation experience (Preferred)
