Job Summary The Program Manager works across two Clubs to ensure youth receive consistently high-quality, engaging, and outcomes-driven programming. This role splits time between two assigned Clubs (approximately 50% at each site over a two-week cycle) and uses BGCMD program planning tools and BGCA youth development best practices to design and coordinate a balanced mix of academic support, wellness, enrichment, and life and workforce skills programming. When the Program Manager is on site, they will be expected to deliver direct services to youth and are considered to be in ratio in terms of coverage. Additionally, the Program Manager equips staff with the curriculum, resources, and support necessary to deliver excellent programming every day and partners with Club Directors, families, community partners, and Program Support Center teams to uphold a safe, inclusive, and inspiring Club Experiences across two sites that are rooted in BGCA’s Five Key Elements for Positive Youth Development. Primary Responsibilities Youth Program Planning (35%) Use the Program Map tool to centralize and standardize programming across Club’s youth programs, ensure programs drive Program Outcomes, meet Program Requirements, and achieve Club Program Standards. Utilize Program Support Center (PSC) and BGCA resources to identify curriculum and other resources to be used in each of the Club’s programs. Collaborate with Club Director (CD) to ensure program schedule consistently engages all members in a mix of academic support, physical and mental health & wellness, enrichment, and life and work skills. Collaborate with program staff to integrate centrally delivered programs into the Club’s ProgramMap (Healthy Lifestyles, Athletics, Mental Health, events, and specialized programming that is run by partner organizations). Collaborate with CD, YDSs, and PSC staff as relevant to plan transportation for programming taking place off-site, and transport youth as needed according to BGCMD operating procedures. Provide ongoing training to YDSs in the use of Program Maps, Program Requirements, Club Program Standards, and curriculum and other resources. Ensure that YDSs have all resources (Program Maps, curriculum, activity plans, supplies) to implement programs with youth including purchasing. Youth Program Accountability (35%) Implement BGCMD program processes, stay informed of BGCMD program expectations, and actively utilize program resources provided by PSC. Consistently observe programs in action and provide timely feedback and support to YDSs. Provide YDSs with ongoing training and coaching to ensure fidelity of program implementation and adherence to program quality standards. Support CDs with program assessment (National Youth Outcomes Initiative, BGCMD ProgramSurvey, Club Program Standards Assessment, Pulse Checks) and implementation of data-driven actions for continuous improvement. Collaborate with CDs, YDSs, and PSC staff to leverage successes and solve areas of concern. Manage YDSs to implement data collection processes that track program participation. Support CDs to report on programs funded by grants. Support CDs in keeping staff in ratio by personally delivering and facilitating programming. Youth, Family, and Community Engagement (10%) Develop strong relationships with members, provide mentorship and guidance that supports meaningful engagement in programs. Support CD and PSC staff with programmatic community partner relationships and engagement opportunities. Collaborate with CD to plan and deliver family/community engagement programming. Supervision and Accountability (20%) Contribute to a culture of teamwork, belonging, productivity, and accountability. Support CDs’ leadership to implement best practices for delivering a Club Experience that includes: Supportive Relationships Recognition Support the onboarding of new YDSs by providing training in youth program expectations, processes, tools, and best practices to facilitate strong, positive youth programming. Provide CDs with insights to inform the CD’s supervision and performance evaluation of YDSs. Support CDs to ensure Club staff to member ratio during Club hours and periodically fill in when other staffing solutions are not available. Partner with Club Director to ensure consistent administrative coverage during Club Director absences, and maintain safe staffing ratios during all program hours. Support CD to ensure Club facility is ready for programming. Participate in BGCMD training days and other opportunities for professional development and collaboration as applicable and bring learnings back to the Club. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree or coursework toward a bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, human services, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of direct experience serving youth, with demonstrated responsibility for program planning, implementation, or coordination that indicates readiness to support program quality and staff development. Understanding of youth development best practices Demonstrated experience evaluating program quality and contributing to continuous improvement of programs to meet quality standards. At least one year of experience providing training, coaching, and constructive feedback to develop team members and support their effective performance. Basic Microsoft Office and computer skills Valid driver’s license and qualification to be insured under the company’s policy (at least 21 years of age and valid driver’s license for at least three years with no major violations) Preferred Qualifications Experience working in the Out of School Time field Spanish speaker Experience supporting and coaching youth-facing staff. Experience with behavior management or trauma-informed practices Experience coordinating program logistics. Experience facilitating training on best practices for serving youth Conditions of Employment The position requires passing criminal and driving records investigations, and reference checks. The position must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy. The position will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required. Some job duties require the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25 lbs. Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion. Strong English proficiency is required for this position to ensure effective communication with staff, club members, and families, as well as to follow safety and procedural guidelines accurately.
