Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Collector role based in Lancaster, PA. The Collector is responsible for managing customer accounts, including monitoring payment status, making outbound collection calls, and following up on past-due balances in a professional and respectful manner. Daily tasks include contacting customers to arrange payment plans, documenting all interactions in the account system, and working with internal teams to resolve billing or contract issues. The role also involves negotiating payment arrangements within company guidelines, verifying customer information, and escalating complex cases when necessary. The Collector is expected to maintain compliance with all applicable laws and company policies while supporting a positive customer experience.
Qualifications
- Experience in collections, accounts receivable, or customer account management, preferably in automotive, retail finance, or related industries.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations in a calm, professional, and respectful manner.
- Basic proficiency with computer systems and office software (e.g., CRM platforms, billing systems, spreadsheets, and email).
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, including accurate documentation and follow-up on multiple accounts.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn relevant collection practices, regulations, and privacy requirements.
- Ability to work on-site full-time in Lancaster, PA, and collaborate effectively with sales, finance, and management teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in finance, business, or customer service is a plus.
- Prior bilingual experience (e.g., English and Spanish) is beneficial but not required.
