Certified Forklift Operator

Automation Personnel Services is seeking a safety-focused and experienced Certified Forklift Operator  for a position with a prominent industrial customer in Baytown, TX. This position is responsible for safely transporting crates, materials, equipment, and machinery components throughout the facility while supporting daily operations in a fast-paced industrial environment.

The ideal candidate will have previous forklift experience, a strong commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work efficiently in an industrial setting. Candidates must possess a current  OSHA 10 Certification and Forklift Certification .

Pay Rate
$18.00 an hour

Schedule and Hours

12-hour day shift

Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays

Certified Forklift Operator Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down, stand-up, and/or reach forklifts safely and efficiently throughout the facility. 
• Move crates, materials, equipment, and products to designated locations. 
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, and shipments while following safety procedures. 
• Supply materials to production, assembly, and installation teams as needed. 
• Perform routine forklift inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns. 
• Maintain accurate inventory movement and storage locations. 
• Assist with material staging, warehouse organization, and housekeeping duties. 
• Follow all OSHA, company, and customer safety requirements at all times. 
• Support machinery installation, equipment relocation, and industrial project activities as directed. 
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to ensure project timelines are met.

Certified Forklift Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid, current OSHA 10 Certification required.
• Valid, current Forklift Certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or construction environment preferred.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and transport crates, materials, and equipment throughout the facility.
• Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety guidelines, and operating procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to identify, report, and help prevent potential safety hazards.
• Strong accountability for productivity, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with supervisors, warehouse personnel, and project teams.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Reliable transportation and excellent attendance record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical activities including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in industrial, manufacturing, and construction-related environments.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules as needed to support project demands.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting machinery installations, equipment relocations, or industrial construction projects.
• Experience loading and unloading trucks, trailers, and large industrial materials.
• Experience operating multiple types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks, or high-capacity forklifts.
