Position Overview

We are seeking an Equipment Mechanic to join our shop team. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing company vehicles, tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other agricultural and nursery equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations.

This is a hands-on shop role that includes mechanical repair, preventative maintenance, welding, fabrication, and general equipment upkeep. This is a stable, year-round position supporting ongoing nursery operations.

The position may be filled at the Equipment Mechanic I or II levels depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and demonstrated ability.

What You Will Do

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on company vehicles, tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other material handling and agricultural equipment

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance including inspections, lubrication, oil changes, fluid checks, tune ups, and component servicing

• Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, clutches, brakes, drivetrains, and related mechanical systems

• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical systems on vehicles and equipment

• Perform welding and metal fabrication to repair damaged equipment and modify parts or components as needed

• Source and obtain parts, materials, and supplies needed for repairs at the more advanced levels

• Maintain accurate service and repair records for vehicles and equipment

• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and diagnostic tools used in mechanical repair

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and work area

• Assist with general facility and shop maintenance as needed, including basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical work
