Production Assistant

Japanese / English Bilingual Production AssistantSeeking a reliable and detail-oriented Japanese/English Bilingual Production Assistant to support daily operations in our manufacturing department. This role works directly with the Production Team Lead and Supervisor to ensure smooth and efficient workflows, help prepare materials, maintain safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. The Production Assistant will also support basic administrative tasks, equipment handling, and cross-department coordination when necessary.This is an ideal position for someone with prior experience in a manufacturing environment who is looking to grow their career with a company that values teamwork, precision, and operational excellence.Responsibilities:Assist in assembly, packaging, and inspection of products.Operate basic machinery and tools as needed.Monitor product quality and report and defects.Follow safety guidelines and standard operation procedures.Support inventory management and material handling.Support production activities by preparing tools, materials, and documentationAssist the Production Team Lead and Supervisor in organizing workflowsMonitor and report production progress and issues (e.g., delays, material shortages)Help with the onboarding and training of new production staffConduct quality checks and flag any nonconformitiesMaintain production records and ensure compliance with safety and operational proceduresKeep work areas clean, organized, and in line with 5S standardsOperate office and production equipment as needed (e.g., for documentation or communication tasks)Help transport tools, materials, or documents between departmentsProvide general clerical and logistical support to production managementRespond to requests from team members to ensure daily goals are metPerform additional duties as assigned in a dynamic manufacturing environmentQualifications:MUST be Japanese/English BilingualMinimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environmentBasic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)Experience with weld assemblies or automotive production preferredFamiliarity with safety standards and quality control processesPrevious experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferredBasic knowledge of production equipment is a plusPhysical ability to stand for long period and lift moderate weights.Key Skills:Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accuratelyStrong attention to detail, organization, and time managementTeam player with good communication and interpersonal skillsWillingness to learn, adapt, and take initiativeProblem-solving mindset with a commitment to qualityWork Environment & Physical Requirements:Frequent standing, walking, and manual tasks using hands/armsBending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching as neededOccasional lifting or moving items up to 35 lbsRegular exposure to active machinery and production equipmentMay require occasional use of office equipment or work at a desk
