About OpenArt

OpenArt is a leading AI creative platform for visual storytelling, used by millions worldwide. We’re building an AI creative partner, powered by the best models in the world, so anyone can make videos, images, characters, and whole stories with the speed and imagination that used to take a studio.

We believe the future of creativity is AI-native: not a vending machine for clips, but a partner that understands what you’re going for, works alongside you, and helps you finish the whole thing, from a single post to a campaign to a film. Our mission is to empower creators to bring their ideas to life. That’s the future we’re shaping, and we’d love for you to help design it.

What You’ll Do

• Design the place a creator’s work lives: where they lay it out, where they find it again, and how a team works on it together.

• Make OpenArt work for a team, not just a person: shared workspaces, roles and permissions, review and approval, and brand assets everyone pulls from, with feedback landing next to the thing it’s about.

• Make running a team feel like part of the product: who’s in, what they can access, what was made and how. Clear enough that a creative director never has to ask IT.

• Give every asset a home: organization, tagging, versions, and the context that usually gets lost, so one approved visual becomes a whole campaign of consistent work.

• Think in systems, not one-off fixes: when you design a share sheet, a permission, or a tag, it should work the same everywhere, so we solve a whole group of problems at once instead of patching them one by one.

• Design for people and for the agent: the agent opens the same panels, fills the same forms, and places things on the same canvas people do. If the interface is clear and consistent for a person, it works for the agent too.

Our Culture

At OpenArt, we value:

• Ownership & Impact – Design is where the product gets decided, not where ideas go to get polished. You’ll shape strategy, not just pixels.

• Curiosity & Growth – We ask "what if?" a lot, build to find out, and share work early.

• Collaboration & Openness – Ideas come from anywhere, and so does honest feedback. We co-create with engineers, founders, and the AI itself.

• Human-Centered Design – AI feels cold by default. We put warmth in the small places: empty states, microcopy, the moment something fails.

What We’re Looking For

Hard Skills

• Systems thinking – you’ve changed how a product is structured so one pattern fixes many problems, and can explain what that made possible.

• Workspaces, editors, or spatial tools – you’ve designed something people organize, return to, and build on.

• Collaboration and permissions – you’ve shipped sharing, roles, or review, and know where multiplayer gets hard.

• Designing for the user and the buyer – you’ve served the person who makes the work and the person who manages or pays for it, without making either feel like an afterthought.

• Strong UI craft – polished, considered, in service of clarity.

• AI in your daily practice – prototyping in code, Claude, Figma Make or similar, with real opinions on where it helps.

Soft Skills

• Product mindset – you care how the whole thing holds together, not just your screens.

• Patience for systems – you hold a structure steady while everything around it moves fast.

• Structure from ambiguity – you’re the one who makes the fuzzy thing clear.

• Open and collaborative – you thrive on feedback and co-creation.

• Strong communicator – you can explain why a structure is right, not just that it looks right.

Example Ideal Candidate

• Has built the place where people keep their work (a workspace, a canvas, a library) and made it feel like theirs.

• Has shipped sharing, roles, or review in a collaborative creative tool, and can say what they got wrong the first time.

• Gets asked for one screen and comes back with pattern that covers the next ten.

• Excited about creators and storytelling , and about making a team’s work feel as alive as one person’s.

Location & Work Setup

• Bay Area (full-time, on-site or hybrid)

• High collaboration with founders and global engineering team.

• Visa sponsorship available.

Why OpenArt?

In most AI tools, your work is a scroll history, and a team’s work is five scroll histories. We think the tool that finally gives AI-made work a home, for one person or a whole team, is the one professionals will build their business on, and that’s a design problem before it’s anything else. If you’ve ever wanted to design the place where people keep the work they’re proud of, and do it together, this is a good place to do it.
