Executive Director of Facilities Services - Facilities and Operations Division

License and Certification Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educators Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Required Education Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in related field Required Masters Degree in related field Preferred Experience Qualifications: 10 years minimum in facilities operations, business administration and/or program management Required Skills Qualifications: Extensive knowledge of facilities and operations functions to include school facility design and facility maintenance, grounds and landscaping maintenance, supply and logistics management, and planning techniques and processes. Demonstrated ability to effectively present complex information to executive management, school system employees and public groups in a written and oral manner. Ability to make executive decisions Expertise with budget planning and control Problem solving, continuous improvement, and managing multi-site operations with general knowledge of local/state/federal building codes Ability to appraise the quality of school facilities and develop long-range plans and objectives Exceptional ability to communicate and work with others in an effective manner Ability to think strategically with appropriate level of detail analysis to plan and execute Ability to organize human and financial resources to implement system level initiatives Degree of skill in organization and problem-solving Ability to analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement Ability to serve as a professional representative of the Gwinnett County Public School system. Primary Responsibilities: Provide leadership in the activities and processes associated with the research, development, implementation, and continuous quality improvement initiatives of planning and forecasting for the district. Establish and implement long-term vision and incremental goals for student enrollment, boundary planning, SPLOST and facility planning. Provide leadership and executive direction over redistricting. Provide leadership, oversight, and guidance to the operation of building maintenance to ensure that all facilities are functioning according to the original design parameters in accordance with the districts mission, vision, and goals. Establish and implement long-term vision and incremental goals for the districts maintenance of schools and support facilities. Provide executive direction for the districts network of utilities including electricity, natural gas, water, and sewer. Provide leadership and oversight to all activities related to the administration and general operation of grounds maintenance in support of the vision, mission, and goals of the district. Establish and implement long-term vision and incremental goals for the districts maintenance of school grounds and facility landscaping. Provide leadership and guidance in the planning, evaluating, and continuous quality improvement of all operations of the Environmental, Print, and Supply Services department, in support of teaching and learning. Provide leadership and executive direction in ensuring that all Facilities Services departments are adhering to quality control procedures to improve production and minimize overall costs for the district. Work with department leadership to develop and enact quality control procedures where needed. Oversee the budget, financial and contract compliance accountability functions for the departments of Building Maintenance, Grounds Maintenance, Environmental, Print and Supply Services, Planning, and Systemwide Engineering. Ensure the Chief Operations Officer is informed of significant changes, events, and actions in the department including projections, trends, and analysis of issues. Provide leadership in improving the quality of services, products, and processes through training, automation, and redesigning of processes and practices for the Facilities and Operations division. Support the Chief Operations Officer in the planning and development of division strategies in support of the districts mission, goals, and objectives. Perform other duties as assigned.
