Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer with 2+ years experience and ARDMS certification for a 13-week acute care assignment.

Details

• Acute care setting in the Ultrasound department
• Rotating shifts including days, afternoons, weekends, holidays, and call
• 10-hour shifts totaling 40 hours per week
• Cerner EMR, with documentation also completed in EPIC
• Must be able to perform OB imaging on all trimesters
• Breast imaging experience required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sonographer required
• ARDMS certification and BLS (AHA) required
• License required if applicable
• Acceptable certifications include RDCS, RCS, RCCS, RVT, or RVS
• If cardiac certified, must be able to perform echocardiograms, TEEs, TTEs, stress echo, and structural heart imaging
• If vascular certified, must be able to perform venous and arterial duplexes, dialysis graft studies, venous insufficiency studies, pulse volume recordings, and ankle brachial index testing
• Background check findings must be disclosed at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Perform non-invasive imaging procedures per cardiac or vascular certification specialty
• Prioritize and coordinate patient scheduling to ensure timely procedure completion
• Explain procedures to patients and families with courtesy and professionalism
• Notify medical staff of abnormal imaging findings as appropriate
• Document completed procedures in patient chart for physician review
• Calculate and measure cardiovascular structures to support physician diagnosis
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment, procedure rooms, and work areas
• Ensure accurate documentation for proper billing
• Maintain patient and unit confidentiality at all times
• Gray scrub color required
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
