The Nursing Professional Development Specialist fosters growth and competence through strategic planning, addressing educational needs identified via assessments, regulatory requirements, quality data, and leadership feedback.Key Responsibilities:Onboarding & Orientation: Develops, manages, facilitates, and evaluates orientation programs for nursing and healthcare staff.Competency Management: Assesses and supports staff competency, addressing any gaps to ensure high-quality care.Education: Designs, implements, and evaluates educational initiatives to close practice gaps and enhance professional development. Collaborates interprofessionally to support continuing education.Collaborative Partnerships: Acts as a liaison and advisor to nurses and learners, fostering partnerships within and outside the organization.Inquiry & Improvement: Engages in research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement projects to enhance healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.Role Development: Applies strategies for continuous professional growth, guided by established standards and frameworks.Standards of Practice: Includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation to ensure effective educational interventions.Education & Experience:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred or must be obtained within three years.3-5 years nursing experience preferred, ideally in acute care or similar healthcare settings.Current nursing licensure required; certification in Nursing Professional Development preferred or to be obtained within two years.Instructor status for programs such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, and CPI is required or must be maintained.Work Schedule: Full-time, primarily first shift, approximately 36 hours per week.This position is based in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
