Job Description\n Amergis Healthcare Staffing, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Springfield, Massachusetts.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: OR - Operating Room\n Discipline: RN\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seekingan Operating Room Nurse responsible forscrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures; department admissions to the operative suite. He/She is responsible to the Nurse Manager and is directly supervised by the RN in the operating rooms to which he/she is assigned.Responsibilities:\n \n Demonstratesandpracticesaseptictechniques.\n Adherestostandardsandappropriateaseptictechniques,including:\n \n preoperativehandscrub\n gowningandgloving\n instrumentationandsupplysetup\n \n Setsuproomforsurgicalproceduresandidentifiesinstrumentationandsupplies\n Setsuproomquicklyandcorrectly,withminimalsupervision\n Pullscorrectinstrumentsandsupplies\n Whenscrubbed,setsupbacktableandMayostandaccordingtofacility'sprocedures.\n Demonstratesabilitytoconcentrateandquicklyrespondappropriatelytodirectionsgivenbycirculating RNorphysician(s).\n Acirculatingnurse,assiststhescrubbedteamwithadditionalstaff,supplies,procedures,andotherservices.\n Participatesinallinstrument,spongecounts,andothercountsasdesignatedbythefacility'spoliciesandprocedures;tomaintainasafepatientcareenvironment.\n Maintainsandupdatessurgeon'sprocedure preferencecardsaschangesoccur.\n Maintainssuppliesinassignedoperatingroom.\n Fostersacooperativeeffortinmeeting thegoalsofnursingandsharingtheworkload.\n Communicatesapositiveandcaringattitudetowardthe area, peers, staff, patients, and other contacts;demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in meeting theneeds of client facilities, patients, and staff.\n Seeksguidance,direction,andassistancewhenneeded.\n Identifiesownlimitationsandseeksguidanceasrequired.\n Recognizesandutilizesappropriatelinesofcommunication.\n Accuratelycommunicatesneedstoco-workersandsupervision.\n Maintains confidentiality of all patients, andhospital-relatedcommunications/documents.\n Maintainsclinicalskillsandexpandsknowledgebasethroughparticipationincontinuouseducation programs.\n Assumesresponsibilityforself-development.\n Seekstoobtainalevel3proficiencyin his/herarea(s)ofclinicalexpertise.\n Keepsinformedofchangesinpracticethroughorganizationalparticipationand/orreadingcurrentliterature.\n Usesknowledgeandpracticeinaccordancewith:\n \n standardsofpatientcare\n TheJointCommission,State,andlocallaws\n Patient's Bill of Rights\n Amergis' nursingandclientfacilitypoliciesandprocedures\n professionalstandards\n \n Documentsactivitiesaccording tofacilitypoliciesandprocedures.\n RepresentstheSurgicalServicesasaresponsibleparaprofessionalinappearanceanddemeanor.\n Afteracceptingafacilityassignment,arrivesatthefacilitybeforetheschedulesshiftstartstosigninatthenursingofficeandreportto the unit on time for orientation and/or report.\n \n Workassignmentsarecompletedduringtheassignedshift,unlessovertimeisapprovedbytheArea or Facility Supervisor\n Dress/attireworntothehospitaliscleanandprofessional.Wearsandusesdesignatedsurgicalattire appropriately.\n Servesasarolemodelthroughthesupportofother facility and Amergis co-workers,adherestospecific facility/unit standards.\n \n Minimum Requirements:\n \n CurrentlicensureasaRegisteredNurseinthestateinwhichhe/shepractices\n Documentationandconfirmationofoneyearofoperatingroomclinicalexperienceinan acute care hospital withinthelastthreeyearspreferred\n Current BLS card.\n FullcommandoftheEnglishlanguage,bothverbalandwritten.\n Physicaldexterityand perceptive acuity (e.g., visual, hearing) to satisfactorily perform all required duties\n CurrentHealthCertificate(ifapplicable)\n CurrentPPDorChestX-Ray\n Successfulcompletionofthe Amergis StaffingSolutionstestingprocess.\n Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: \n \n Competitive pay & weekly paychecks\n Health, dental, vision, and life insurance\n 401(k) savings plan\n Awards and recognition programs\n *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status. \n About Amergis Amergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
