Head Coach

Track & Field/Cross Country Varsity Head Coach Summary Corona Del Mar High School is seeking energetic and experienced coaches to lead and develop our high school program.The ideal candidate will have expertise in coaching and will exhibit the ability to lead a competitive program by inspiring stakeholders, mentoring staff, promoting athlete development, managing operations, and adhering to policies, while fostering inclusivity, teamwork, and academic-athletic balance. Work Calendar: The competitive season occurs during the spring athletics season, which is approximately February-May. The head coach will be expected to work with the team year-round, including summers, for practice and strength training. Salary: The stipend for these positions is $5131.00 annually.Additional compensation is paid at a weekly rate for the length of time the team participates in CIF Playoffs.Off-season and summer pay can be earned in accordance with district guidelines. Potential teaching position available dependent on credential. Qualifications/Responsibilities Define and execute a clear vision for the program. Inspire and guide student-athletes, coaches, and parents toward shared goals and values. Build a unified coaching staff, set clear expectations, and provide mentorship. Support student-athletes in balancing academics and athletics. Foster relationships with parents, faculty, and staff, building a supportive network for the program. Maintain strong connections within the community to attract talent and resources. Establish measurable goals, evaluate progress, and adapt strategies as needed. Stay current on trends and strategies to foster competitive and effective program development. Implement tailored training methods to enhance individual and team performance. Continuously improve through professional development opportunities. Coordinate and manage practice, game, and tournament schedules. Ensures timely completion of administrative tasks. Serve as a role model, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and sportsmanship. Understands and adheres to the rules, policies, and procedures set for by CIF, the league in which the team participates and the Newport-Mesa Unified School District.
