Women's Health Physician Leadership Position

The Women's Health Physician Leadership role offers comprehensive clinical, academic, operational, and strategic guidance across our organization's inpatient and outpatient women's health services. This physician leader combines the duties of a traditional Department Chair with the broader responsibilities of a Women's Service Line Leader, ensuring high-quality care delivery that prioritizes excellence in quality, patient safety, accessibility, experience, education, and growth.

Collaborating closely with the Women's Service Line Director, Administrative Dyad Leader, system executives, nursing leadership, and local teams, this leader promotes a coordinated, mission-driven care model that aligns with our organization's values and strategic goals. Rooted in the ACOG Physician Leadership Competency Framework, this role guides physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), enhances quality and safety, supports operational efficiency, and nurtures a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and ongoing improvement to provide compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based care to women and families throughout Western New York.

• Medical Degree: Must possess either a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or a Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Current, unrestricted New York State license or in-progress NYS licensure, active by the date of hire, along with an active NYS DEA certificate.
• Board Certification: Must be Board Eligible or Certified in OB/GYN.
• Certification: Electronic Fetal Monitor (EFM) Certification is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of clinical practice as a board-certified OB/GYN physician.
• Leadership: Proven progressive leadership experience within a complex health system, medical group, or service line structure.
• Operations Knowledge: Strong understanding of clinical operations, quality improvement, and performance management.
• Academic Experience: Familiarity with academic partnerships, research initiatives, and clinical education is preferred.

• Ensure that clinical practices (Chair role) and operational workflows (Service Line role) align with our organization's mission and values.
• Provide executive oversight for all administrative functions within the OB/GYN Department, ensuring alignment with system objectives.
• Act as the representative for women's health services, fostering relationships with community health leaders and referring physicians.
• Establish credentialing criteria and OPPE thresholds for all OB/GYN providers, maintaining clinical care standards, required policies, and evidence-based guidelines.
• Lead peer review processes, quality governance, and the development of clinical policies.
• Initiate efforts to standardize care protocols, monitor key performance indicators, and drive continuous quality improvement to enhance maternal and gynecological outcomes.
• Assess clinical needs, service requirements, and specialty-specific expectations across the system.
• Oversee financial performance, productivity, cost management, and business planning for the Women's Service Line.
• Recruit, evaluate, and develop clinicians while setting expectations for professionalism and academic excellence.
• Drive market growth, service expansion, and business development for the Women's Service Line.
• Provide professional mentorship to physicians, providers, and trainees.

• Position Type: Full Time
• Salary: Annual salary range of $350,000 - $375,000
• Incentives: Recruitment incentives including arrival bonuses and relocation expenses.
