Banker Lopez Gassler is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1–2 years of civil litigation experience to join our Tampa office. This is an opportunity for an attorney to take an active role in managing substantive litigation matters while working alongside experienced trial attorneys and Practice Group Leaders.

What You'll Do

As an Associate Attorney, you will manage an active litigation caseload and participate in matters throughout all phases of civil litigation, including:

• Manage assigned civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research, analysis, and case evaluation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, discovery, and other legal documents.
• Draft and respond to interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admissions, and other discovery.
• Participate in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and court appearances.
• Interview clients, witnesses, and other relevant parties.
• Assist with litigation strategy, case preparation, and trial preparation.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other legal professionals.
• Work closely with Practice Group Leaders, attorneys, and litigation support staff.
• Manage litigation deadlines, case activity, and competing priorities.
• Maintain organized and accurate case files and documentation.
• Provide high-quality legal service while developing strong client and professional relationships.

Experience We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in attorneys with 1–2 years of civil litigation or defense litigation experience, including experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Insurance Defense
• Construction Litigation
• Commercial Litigation
• Products Liability
• Toxic Tort
• First-Party Litigation
• Insurance Coverage
• Bad Faith Litigation

A civil defense background is preferred, but attorneys with transferable civil litigation experience are encouraged to apply.

What Will Make You Successful

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Florida and membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.
• 1–2 years of litigation experience preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage an active litigation caseload and multiple competing deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Practice Group Leaders and other attorneys.
• Professional judgment, initiative, and a commitment to providing high-quality legal work.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple matters and priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment.
