Contract: 9 weeks



Pay: Up to $32/hour

Job Summary

Adventist Health is seeking an experienced Patient Account Associate to perform medical billing, collections, account reconciliation, payment posting, and reimbursement activities for assigned patient accounts.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of healthcare billing experience
• High school diploma or Associate degree required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification required
• Epic experience required
• Strong knowledge of medical billing, claims, collections, and reimbursement processes
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

Key Responsibilities

• Perform medical billing and collection activities for assigned patient accounts
• Communicate with patients, government agencies, and third-party payers to obtain information needed for reimbursement
• Review unpaid accounts and initiate corrective actions to collect outstanding balances
• Follow up on accounts to ensure expected results are achieved
• Initiate collection actions for past-due and denied claims
• Calculate write-offs and debit/credit adjustments
• Communicate with other departments regarding charge information, coding updates, and claim-appeal information
• Post complex electronic and manual cash receipts, adjustments, and denials
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of all posted data
• Consistently meet or exceed productivity and quality expectations
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
