We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant & Tax Preparer to manage day-to-day accounting functions and prepare accurate individual and/or business tax returns. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and confident working with financial data in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
- Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate bookkeeping records
- Reconcile bank accounts and financial statements
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Identify tax-saving opportunities for clients or company operations
- Communicate with clients and/or internal teams regarding financial matters
- Support audits and respond to IRS or state notices as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- 2 years of experience in accounting and tax preparation
- Strong knowledge of U.S. tax codes and filing requirements
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
- Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- CPA or EA designation (preferred but not required)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with small business or individual tax clients
- Payroll and sales tax experience
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines during tax season
- Strong communication and client service skills
