Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our team. This position involves providing outpatient diagnostics during daytime hours and will include a rotation of three 12-hour shifts followed by a period of time off.

Schedule

Shifts: 3 12-hour shifts

Rotation: 6 on / 8 off

Call: None

Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Varies based on schedule

Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for the following:

• Performing Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs).
• Working with a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric, with no neonatal patients.
• Managing patients with common diagnoses such as COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, COVID-19, and patients on ventilators, although ventilator use is rare.

Floating Requirements

May require floating across various patient populations as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum and Preferred Experience:

• Minimum Experience: 2 years
• Preferred Experience: 5+ years
• LTAC Experience: Required

Credentials

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred over Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
• PFT experience is required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is not required

Patient Population

The therapist will care for patients in the inpatient acute care setting, servicing a range of patients from pediatric to geriatric. Patient load varies.

Equipment & Systems

• EMR: Meditech
• Ventilators: Drager / CareFusion Vela

Orientation

Orientation includes two shadow shifts: one during the day and one at night. Additionally, the therapist may float across patient populations as necessary.
