The Director of Resident Services develops implements and coordinates resident programs and activities within seven aspects of wellness, addresses resident concerns, coordinates resident transitional needs, facilitates resident communication processes, and manages the resident information systems. Pay Scale $95,000 - $114,000 We Offer 100% paid medical, dental and vision for employee, employer paid life insurance and AD&D for employees working 30+ hours/week (Option to buy-up if desired). In addition, we offer a Flexible Spending account for medical and childcare reimbursements with a $500.00 rollover feature (No Rollover on childcare) AND the option to purchase Long Term disability insurance. Eligibility begins the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 403(B) plan (Eligibility on 403b – 20+ hours per week) – We match 50 cents for every dollar saved up to 10% of your annual salary. Matching begins the first of the quarter following 1 year of employment. Full-time employees are eligible to accrue up to 16 paid time off days, 6 paid holidays and 3 personal days. Pro-rated paid time off is available to part-time employees. In Addition, We Offer Employee Assistant Program (EAP) through Wellspring Family Services Gym Free Parking Beautiful walking paths around the community Primary Responsibilities Essential Duties as Manager Completes all annual staff performance appraisal forms, directly or through subordinates; delivers to Human Resources by due date. Meets with staff members on an ongoing and continual basis to review performance and provide feedback, guidance and instruction needed. Selects candidates, trains, assigns and supervises staff, directly or through subordinates. Ongoing evaluation of performance of staff, initiates disciplinary action and consults with Human Resources regarding employee issues. Plans for and recommends space, staffing, training and equipment needed to meet resident needs and /or to provide other services. Needs are demonstrated by budget, goals and objectives, reports and other departmental records. Prepares annual budget to provide appropriate level of care and establish financial goals. Justifies assumptions used in compilation. Participates in applicable committees and meetings as required. Completes required in-services. Responds to internal and external communication timely and appropriately utilizing customer service approach. Promotes a teamwork mentality throughout all aspects of position. Communicates and supports campus wide initiatives and goals to staff to ensure all employees are aware of the organization’s overall goals and objectives. Develops & implements departmental policies & procedures. Supports employee safety programs and initiatives, ensuring no lost time caused by work related injuries. Essential Functions Oversees the efficient operation of the Resident Services Department, ensuring that all resident programs are managed effectively through a resident-staff partnership built on trust, transparency, and the coordination of resources. Actively oversees the process of supporting independent living residents who need additional resources and support. Initiates the involvement of the CARE Transition Team for upcoming short-term or long-term moves on campus. Manages Status Change Notifications regarding independent living residents. Serves as primary liaison with independent living family members, emergency contacts and/or POA’s to ensure resident safety and well-being during a health crisis, hospital stay, or transition to higher level of care. Develops and implements strategies to effectively market resident programs and services through the use of HK branded resident communication materials including Heron’s Flight, KeyNotes, PowerPoint slides, posters, flyers, SlickText, and the Resident Portal. Oversees the implementation and timely completion of the monthly editorial calendar in regard to the cyclical publication of the items listed above. Provides guidance, content, final editing, and approval of KeyNotes and monthly Heron’s Flight newsletter. Ensures the successful programming of HKTV via the coordination of resident groups and staff. Oversees the annual revision of the Resident Handbook in partnership with Resident Council Committees and Executive Director. Develops, implements, and facilitates new resident welcome orientation programs. Develops and implements appropriate resident information, training and communications pertaining to Heron’s Key’s policies and resolves any observed or reported violations. Proactively recommends and supports campus-wide infection control protocols in regard to resident events; executes the communication protocol for infection control notification from Resident Services to all other departments, as necessary. Interacts with residents to hear their complaints, concerns and suggestions. Works with residents to resolve their concerns promptly. Serves as administrative liaison to several resident committees; engages with resident volunteers to establish avenues for neighborly support to increase well-being and safety. Monitors financial performance, identifies areas for improvement, and implements strategies to operate at or below approved budget. Strategically develops marketing initiatives to increase resident usage of revenue producing services within the department. Oversees the maintenance of department manuals and department protocols to ensure delineation of responsibilities and critical functions during staff absences or emergencies. Ensures complete and accurate information is provided within Guest Rooms to support a positive and welcoming experience for guests and prospects. Oversees guest room furnishings and approves purchases that reflect a quality experience for guests. Serves as primary liaison with salon services company ensuring service quality, regulatory compliance, and contractual terms are managed. Maintains resident information databases and ensures updates or changes are recorded in a timely manner. Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience Bachelor degree in related field preferred. Experience in planning and implementing programs and activities for senior adults. Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to complete within 30 days. Knowledge of general interests needs of older adults. Knowledge of community resources that meet older adults needs. Ability to work independently as well as in teams and work groups. Proven problem solving and project management skills. Skilled in recognizing physical, mental, and emotional needs of residents and good judgment in making decisions about action to be taken regarding these needs. Empathy and sensitivity to needs of residents. Maintain confidentiality. Tactful, enthusiastic and courteous when dealing with residents and staff. Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, management, and decision-making skills with both residents and staff. Ability to work well with older adults and staff.
