Salary: $125,000 - $200,000 per year A bit about us: ** Located in the New York City Metropolitan Area - Hybrid/Remote is an Option as long as you live close to New York City ** We seek an experienced Defense Civil Litigator Attorney with a proven track record in New York Labor Law matters and an even stronger background in Commercial Auto and Trucking Liability defense. This role is ideal for an attorney who has successfully defended fleet owners, trucking companies, and insurers facing high-exposure accident litigation. You will be entrusted with handling matters soup-to-nuts in New York state courts—investigating claims, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, preparing motions, negotiating settlements, and trying cases when necessary. You will also collaborate with colleagues on high-exposure cases involving fleet accident exposures, commercial auto claims, excess/umbrella liability, and complex insurance coverage issues. Work on high-profile and complex defense matters impacting transportation and fleet industries Supportive, growth-oriented environment with mentorship from experienced litigators Remote and/or Hybrid Remote is an Option Competitive Base Salary (depending on experience) Excellent Full Benefits 401(k) with 3% match and so much more Job Details Key Responsibilities Defend fleet operators, trucking companies, and insurers in complex commercial auto/trucking liability cases with accident exposure Litigate New York Labor Law cases from inception through trial and appeal Draft and argue motions, manage discovery, and conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts Provide strategic analysis and coverage opinions on liability policies, reservations of rights, disclaimers, and declaratory judgment actions Engage in tactical negotiation and settlement processes to minimize exposure for clients Collaborate with a team of seasoned litigators on high-value defense matters across multiple practice areas Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to practice in New York (New Jersey admission a plus) 5+ years of experience as a civil litigator, with significant commercial auto/trucking liability defense work Substantial New York Labor Law litigation experience (construction-related personal injury defense) Demonstrated insurance defense expertise, including declaratory judgment litigation and coverage opinion drafting Courtroom and trial experience strongly preferred Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to craft persuasive arguments Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and billing requirements Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture If interested, tell us why our client will benefit when you become a member of their team, and send a writing sample (i.e., Coverage Option or Brief and Declaratory Judgment Action), your resume, and your desired base salary requirements to Interested in hearing more?
