Facility: Bemidji Medical Center Location: Bemidji, MN Address: 1300 Anne St NW, Bemidji, MN 56601, USA Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts Job Schedule: Full time Weekly Hours: 40.00 Salary Range: $36.72 - $50.70 Union Position: Yes Job Summary Responsible for administration of nuclear imaging procedures, calculation, diagnostic, therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, and adjunctive medications using a variety of equipment and strictly adhering to relevant safety standards. Performs quality nuclear medicine imaging examinations with advanced technical knowledge, while maintaining patient care in accordance with department policy and procedure. Carries out hot lab duties and performs nuclear medicine studies on inpatients and outpatients across all age groups from neonate to geriatric. Understands Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) rules and regulations, practices radiation safety, operates all cameras and equipment in the department, and processes data for required destinations via computer. Understands the theories and principles behind the equipment and tests performed in the nuclear medicine department. Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals and therapeutically dosages under physician direction. Uses radiation-detecting equipment to perform patient imaging procedures; explains procedures to patients and answers questions. Implements radiation safety standards and quality assurance into daily work and monitors a patient’s condition during imaging procedures. Collects patient information, analyzes data, and provides quality images for physician diagnosis. Depending on facility and department needs, may be responsible for and cross-trained in performing positron emission tomography computed tomography (PET/CT) scans with thorough understanding of all PET/CT processes. Maintains ability to perform nuclear medicine procedures appropriate to the department and adapts to growth and development needs of diverse patient populations. Demonstrates thorough understanding of all processes related to PET/CT. Demonstrates teamwork, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times. Must be open to change and technology advancements. Qualifications Must have completed an educational program and clinical experience accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or completed a formal AMA-accredited Nuclear Medicine program and be certified by the CNMT or NMTBC. One year of experience as a staff radiologic technologist; if a graduate of a formal Nuclear Medicine program, experience may be waived. Thorough understanding of diagnostic radiographic principles, including film processing, quality control, and radiation protection. Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
