Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO)
VEA Health is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join the growing Emergency Department at Yoakum Community Hospital in Yoakum, Texas.
Opportunity to practice in a lower-volume Emergency Department with meaningful community impact and strong specialty support.
Position Highlights:
- 6 dedicated Emergency Department beds
- Annual ED volume: 6,000 visits (approximately 16 patients per day)
- Pediatric patients account for 26% of ED visits
- Physician shift options:
- 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- 8:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.
- Admission rate: 5.1%
- Average physician productivity: 0.31 patients per hour
- Transfer rate: 1.4%
- Strong specialty backup in:
- Gastroenterology
- Urology
- Cardiology
- Podiatry
- General Surgery
- Orthopedics
- EMR: MedHost
- Patient satisfaction score reporting and accountability
Qualifications:
- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Emergency Medicine, or Board-Certified/Board-Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- ATLS certification required (unless Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine)
