About the Role:

The Technician (ASE Certified) plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of vehicles by performing thorough diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs. This position requires a deep understanding of automotive systems and the ability to apply ASE certification standards to deliver high-quality service. The technician will work closely with service advisors and customers to accurately identify vehicle issues and recommend appropriate solutions. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount to maintain the integrity of each repair and service. Ultimately, this role contributes to customer satisfaction and the overall reputation of the service facility by providing expert technical support and efficient vehicle turnaround.

Minimum Qualifications:

• ASE certification in relevant automotive specialties.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagnostic equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional ASE certifications in multiple automotive systems.
• Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle technologies.
• Formal automotive technical training or associate degree.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Familiarity with computerized repair order systems and inventory management.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections and diagnostics using ASE standards and specialized tools.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues accurately and execute necessary repairs or replacements.
• Maintain detailed service records and communicate findings and recommendations clearly to service advisors and customers.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and environmental regulations while working in the service area.

Skills:

The required ASE certification ensures the technician has a standardized and recognized level of expertise in automotive repair, which is applied daily to diagnose and fix vehicle issues efficiently. Technical skills such as using diagnostic tools and interpreting repair manuals are essential for accurate problem-solving and maintenance. Preferred skills like knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicles expand the technician’s ability to service a broader range of vehicles, enhancing versatility. Communication skills are used to explain complex technical information clearly to customers and team members, fostering trust and transparency. Additionally, proficiency with computerized systems helps streamline workflow, manage parts inventory, and maintain accurate service records, contributing to overall operational efficiency.
