Lead Shelter Technician | Animal Services

ProSidian seeks a Lead Shelter Technician | Animal Services for program support on a contract basis. This position is located in Charlotte, NC, across the Mid Atlantic region.

We seek candidates with relevant government and public services sector experience to support professional services engagement for government and public services sector clients. This is a technical element or contract W-2 (IRS-1099) animal services functional area professional - animal shelter operations position; however, ProSidian reserves the right to convert to a full-time ProSidian employed W-2 position.

Job Overview

Provide services and support as an animal shelter operations (lead shelter technician) in the government and public services industry sector focusing on human capital solutions for clients such as City of Charlotte (COC) | Charlotte Cooperative Purchasing Alliance (CCPA) generally located in CONUS - Charlotte, NC and across the Mid Atlantic region (of country/world).

Responsibilities and Duties

• Supervise kennel aides and animal care staff.
• Coordinate feeding, cleaning, and enrichment schedules.
• Manage intake and release processes.
• Monitor animal health and coordinate with veterinary team.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.

The role is located in the Mid Atlantic region at or near CONUS - Charlotte, NC. Initially identified work site address (subject to change or working remotely): 678 East 4th Street Charlotte, NC 28202.

Qualifications

Desired qualifications for lead shelter technician | animal services candidates:

Strong animal care experience and leadership skills.

Education/experience requirements/qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; advanced training preferred.

3–5 years in animal care, shelter, or veterinary settings.

Primarily focused on professional and management development training initiatives and aligned with 283 activities 283 functional area activities.

Leadership, record management, animal handling.

Competencies required:

• Problem-solving, adaptability, empathy.

Ancillary details of the roles:

• Develops staff training in animal care techniques.
• Oversees quarantine procedures for incoming animals.

Other Requirements

Business tools – understanding and proficiency with business tools and technology, including Microsoft Office. The ideal candidate is advanced with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, and proficient with Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio with the ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary.
