Required Skills:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification or equivalent
• Proficiency in preparing and maintaining sterile fields and operating rooms
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and procedures, especially in cardiovascular cases
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and team members
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and supplies efficiently

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with cardiovascular or high-acuity surgical procedures
• Prior mentorship or precepting experience
• Knowledge of sterile processing and instrument sterilization
• Familiarity with hospital electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Associate's Degree or certificate from a recognized surgical technology program
• Prior experience working in a cardiovascular OR or similar high-complexity environment
• Certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support)

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work a 3x12 day shift schedule, including late shifts and weekends as per unit needs
• Willingness to participate in performance improvement initiatives
• Commitment to maintaining compliance with Joint Commission standards and hospital policies
• Relevant licenses and certifications must be valid and current upon hire
