Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join a dynamic Emergency Department team in Elmira, New York. This role is based in a 48-treatment space ED, providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population requiring urgent and emergent medical attention.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions for emergency patients.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist with procedures as per physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and other physiological data, responding to changes appropriately.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records.
• Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Adhere to a 1:5 patient ratio, prioritizing patient safety and quality outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in an Emergency Department setting.
