Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using established assessment tools and observational practices.
  • Create customized treatment strategies that tackle short-term objectives and long-term speech, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, fluency, language, voice, and swallowing techniques.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team comprising physical therapists, occupational therapists, healthcare providers, and families to devise integrated care plans.
  • Provide education and support for patients and families to encourage continued progress outside the therapy room.
  • Occasionally partake in inpatient evaluations and speech therapy measures, ensuring uninterrupted care throughout every treatment stage.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation is kept in line with state, federal, and facility-specific protocols.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain abreast of the latest advancements in the field through educational opportunities and peer networking.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • A completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if the ASHA certification is not yet achieved.

Certifications

  • Valid licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in New Jersey.
  • Preference for the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) awarded by ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
