Multi-Axis CNC Machining Technician

In this role, you’ll transform drawings into reality—setting up, programming, and operating CNC equipment to deliver components that meet demanding tolerances. You’ll collaborate, problem-solve, and continuously improve in a shop that values forward-thinking, teamwork, and ethics. Your mission Produce high-quality parts within defined tolerances and router hours by setting up, programming, and operating CNC VTLs, horizontal mills, vertical mills, and horizontal lathes. Translate blueprints/specifications into efficient machining strategies; verify dimensions and finishes throughout the run. Choose and align cutting tools, verify sharpness, and ensure proper fixturing and alignment. Define machining parameters—spindle speed, feed rate, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut—and edit CNC programs to optimize cycle time and quality. Monitor machine behavior, identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions, and adjust on the fly. Keep equipment and tooling clean and maintained to maximize reliability and performance. Offer ideas that elevate production methods, machine performance, and product quality. Qualifications Experience operating diverse machine tools for progressive machining work. Ability to read and interpret blueprints/plans and follow detailed routers. Strong mathematics foundation, mechanical aptitude, and a knack for troubleshooting. Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management. Embodies our values: personal accountability, discipline, trust, and proactive action. High school diploma or GED required; vocational machining training preferred. Capable of operating a forklift and overhead crane; skilled with precision measuring instruments; able to maintain shop machinery and equipment. Safety and physical readiness Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally; use team lifts or approved lifting devices above that threshold. Work from ladders; operate lifting devices; remain mobile on the shop floor without assistance. At times, work in confined spaces—crawling in, on, and under equipment. Comfortable with shop conditions: heat, cold, dust, noise, fumes, and similar exposures. Wear required PPE at all times: safety glasses and steel-toe shoes; add PPE as needed.
