About the role As a Precon Coordinator/Engineer at Cppi, you will play a pivotal role in the early stages of project development, ensuring that all preconstruction activities are executed efficiently and effectively. Conduct thorough site assessments to gather essential data for project planning, including environmental considerations and local regulations. Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects, utilizing industry-standard software and methodologies to ensure accuracy. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and assess their capabilities, ensuring that selected partners meet project requirements. Facilitate project meetings with stakeholders to discuss progress, address concerns, and adjust plans as necessary to stay on track. Analyze project schedules and timelines, identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to minimize delays. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, construction methods, and materials to provide informed recommendations during the preconstruction phase. Assist in the preparation of bid documents and proposals, ensuring that all necessary information is included for a successful submission. Support the transition from preconstruction to construction by providing detailed handover documentation and facilitating communication between teams. Monitor and report on the progress of preconstruction activities, ensuring that milestones are met and budgets are adhered to. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance preconstruction processes and methodologies. Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded throughout the preconstruction phase. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in preconstruction or a similar role within the construction industry. Proficiency in construction management software and tools, such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards. Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with cost estimation techniques and budgeting processes. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed. Nice to have Professional certifications such as LEED, PMP, or CCM would be advantageous. Experience with sustainable building practices and green construction methodologies. Knowledge of local building codes and zoning regulations in Florida. Previous experience in a client-facing role, enhancing client relationships and satisfaction. Familiarity with advanced project management methodologies, such as Agile or Lean principles. Skills & tools Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation. Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software for reviewing architectural plans and drawings. Familiarity with project scheduling software like Microsoft Project or Primavera P6. Ability to utilize cost estimation software effectively to generate accurate project budgets. Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and project files efficiently. Practical notes This position is based in Gainesville, Florida, and may require occasional travel to project sites within the region.
