Registered Nurse

The Seven Hills School seeks a part time Registered Nurse for our Middle and Upper School students. The hours of this position will be Monday through Friday, from 9:30 am-3:00 pm during the school year, for Middle and Upper students.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Ohio (enclose a copy)
• Current CPR, First Aid, AED Adult and Pediatric Certification
• Clinical Nursing Experience, preferable hospital setting

Preferred

• Experience working with pediatrics
• School Nursing Experience
• CPR, First Aid, AED Instructor Certification
• School Nurse Licensure from ODE (will need apply for once employed)

Skills

• Strong assessment skills with the ability to quickly intervene during an emergent situation
• Dynamic interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with parents and nurturing to students.
• Ability to perform various duties outside the scope of a nurse
• Knowledge and basic understanding of child-adolescent growth and development
• Adapt to the on-going needs of parents, students and faculty with a sense of ease

Responsibilities

• Provide both preventative and emergent care for students and faculty
• Manages immunizations records in compliance with ODH requirements
• Maintains accurate student health records in a confidential manner
• Administration of daily and emergency medications
• Coordinates Student Health Care Plans with parents (needs to be flexible for meetings prior to the school day or after school hours)
• Acts as a resource for teachers regarding student medical conditions
• Provides staff in-service programs on health topics including Blood Borne Pathogens, Epinephrine Auto injector training, and AED training
• Participates in the development of the health-related policies and protocols in compliance with state mandated and current health practices
• Other duties including screening for head lice and education for parents
