Utility Steward/DishwasherMeriwether Godsey is looking for full-time, part-time, or temporary utility steward/dishwasher's at Sweet Briar College, located in Amherst, VA.Must be available to work as follows: days, evenings, and weekends.Pay range: $14-$15 per hour.What you will do:Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize itemsNote and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediatelyTransport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areasClean dining and serving areas throughout and after the meal period, and replenish to ensure service without interruptionSet up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pansMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trashAssist with receiving and storing food products and food preparation, following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safetyPerform all duties under food safety and sanitation best practicesOther duties, as assignedWhat you need:Prior dishwashing experience (1 year preferred)Strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility: the ability to switch between tasks and responsibilities as neededReliability and a willingness to work in a hot, humid environmentAbility to stand/move about for long periods and lift 25 lbs.Ability to adhere to company safety and sanitation proceduresGood communication skills and a great attitudeWhat you will get:Competitive pay, uniforms, meals, training and mentorship, and benefits (health, vision, dental, etc.)Meriwether Godsey offers significant opportunities for growth and career advancement.
