Current Support Technician @ ACC 1+ year

"I loved my time as a Support Technician at Animal Care Clinic! It was a great way for me to get involved with the veterinary field, and was perfect for me as a student because my shifts worked around my school schedule. As a Support Technician, I quickly learned the ins and outs of how a veterinary hospital operates, worked directly with knowledgeable professionals, and built confidence working with animals and their owners. Ultimately, this role helped me fulfill my dream of going to veterinary school, but it would be perfect for anyone seeking a career working with animals. Animal Care Clinic also has some of the best technology and staff you will find in the area I truly cannot recommend them and this position enough!"

Former Support Technician @ ACC, Current DVM Student

"As an animal science alumni from Cal Poly, being a support tech at ACC was an amazing opportunity for me to get my foot in the door of the veterinary world! With very minimal animal experience prior, I gained lots of hands-on training in fear-free animal restraint, administering injections, assisting with radiographs, filling medications, and processing lab samples. ACC has an established training system that allowed me to work my way up from being a support tech to being a veterinary assistant, where I eventually was able to run tech appointments, monitor anesthesia, and place some of my first IV catheters. The knowledge and skills I learned from the talented RVTs and DVMs at ACC is priceless, and starting as a support tech definitely gave me a solid foundation for a successful future in vet med!"

Former Support Technician @ ACC

"I feel grateful to have my first experience working in the veterinary industry with ACC because it set a very high standard for how a hospital should be run. One of the most notable things I gained from my time as a tech is how much ACC cares for employees, not only making sure every employee is comfortable and progressing in their personal career, but ensuring the workplace environment is supportive and collaborative. As I have moved on in vet school, I've noticed that the basis of a well run hospital is good communication, and it is unique that ACC makes such a conscious effort to do that right. The role of being a Support Technician is another truly unique experience because it provides the opportunity to learn how to work on every team of a large hospital. I have colleagues that were solely surgery technicians or solely room nurses, and they felt unfamiliar with other aspects of the hospital. I loved being able to jump in and help on any team, and it pushed me out of my comfort zone. This role has the opportunity for building an extremely solid foundation as a technician, establishing relationships with talented doctors, and progressing in any veterinary career regardless of what your end goal may be."
