Youth Services Librarian

Serve Your Community as a Youth Services Librarian at Eva Perry Regional Library in Apex! Engage directly with our youngest Wake County citizens as a Youth Services Librarian. You will share the magic of the library, delivering captivating programs, offering personalized service, and working at a service desk. Your role will create unforgettable experiences that inspire a lifelong love of reading and learning. Key Responsibilities Create Engaging Programs: Design and implement dynamic programs for children of all ages to spark curiosity and joy. Lead Confidently: Take charge in the absence of the library manager(s) to ensure smooth operations and support colleagues. Collaborate with Passion: Work with a dedicated team to brainstorm, plan, and execute programs, projects, and maintain collections. Build Strong Community: Establish and nurture relationships with the community, promote library services, and provide excellent customer service, reference, and readers advisory services. The Basics (Required Education and Experience) Master's degree in Librarianship or related field (MLS, MLIS, MIS, ML) from an ALA accredited program or NC program. No specific experience required; equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted. Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) Coursework in youth services. One year of professional librarian experience working with children. Spanish language skills. How Will We Know You're 'The One'? About This Position Location: Eva Perry Library, Apex, NC 27502 Employment Type: Regular Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, including Wednesday evenings and every 4th weekend.
