CNC Machinist Apprentice - Four Rivers

Position Summary We are currently accepting applications for a CNC Apprentice (you must be enrolled in the Four Rivers program) to operate computer numerical control machines and conventional machines to fabricate parts. Under the mentorship of a Lead Machinist, the Apprentice will load parts into machines, cycle them, detect malfunctions, run production lots, communicate with co‑workers regarding production runs, and maintain a safe, organized and clean work environment. Essential Job Responsibilities Run production on a CNC machining center Check and monitor the parts that are being run Read basic dimensions and tolerances from a blueprint Ensure quality standards are met Produce the proper amount of parts per machine cycle time Deburr and blend all machined parts Perform daily maintenance on machines, including: Maintaining fluid levels Emptying chips Wiping down machine to remove coolant, dust and debris Maintain a clean and organized work area Complete and maintain required paperwork Attend consistently and arrive on time Education and Experience Current Four Rivers Student Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor, including eye, ear and foot protection Occasionally lift or move up to 10–50 pounds Benefits $18/hour while in the apprenticeship program 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match Competitive wages Paid holidays and time off Medical, dental, vision, life, accidental, short‑term and long‑term disability insurance Employee assistance plan, wellness program, tuition assistance (subject to eligibility) EEO Statement Sonaca North America is an equal employment opportunity employer.
