Aircraft Mechanic II - Fuel Systems

POSITION TITLE: Aircraft Mechanic II (Fuel System) | WORKCENTER: BACK SHOP (Fuel Shop) Essential Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul and modify fuel systems Drain fuel from tanks and cells Perform purge operations on cells and tanks Remove, reassemble, and install components Cleans and inspects fuel cells Monitor the need for sealants and necessary seals for mission support Inspect and repair aircraft fuel systems Monitor bench stock, shop stock, and Composite Tool Kits (CTK's) Perform on and off equipment maintenance as required Use maintenance instructions and technical data for inspections and maintenance in the repair of aircraft Provide specialized knowledge to accomplish difficult repairs and perform major repairs, as needed Document discrepancies in applicable forms and input data in Maintenance Information Systems Order materials and supplies as required Ensure compliance with applicable safety, housekeeping, tool control, and FOD prevention programs Work day shift, second shift, third shift, and/or weekend shift as required Perform work center additional duties with provided training Perform other duties within classification Travel to include TDY Maintain training requirements Minimum Requirements Strong working knowledge of fuel system maintenance procedures and completion of fuel system specialized courses Knowledge of procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials Pass an occupational physical Respirator training, fuel system confined space entry training, and CPR training Ability to read and interpret data Work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds Effective communication abilities, both verbally and in writing FAA Airframe certificate/license Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required) Ability to obtain and maintain a flightline driver’s license Preferred Qualifications Experience working with fuels, oils, lubricants, chemical cleaners, and solutions Compensation Details HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $51.37 – competitive benefits package included.
