Job Overview and Qualifications

As a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN), your primary duties will include conducting patient assessments, creating care plans, and implementing as well as evaluating those plans. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to ensure the safe and precise delivery of care.

• You will develop a care plan, adjust it based on the patient's response to treatment, and regularly assess its effectiveness.
• You will work with an interdisciplinary team to create, assess, and modify care plans that align with the patient's needs and objectives.
• You will administer medications and perform treatments in accordance with hospital policies.
• You will appropriately delegate tasks to non-licensed staff following established standards of practice.
• You will provide care for patients before and after surgical procedures.
• You will supply educational materials to patients and their families regarding care and treatment options.
• You will assist in coordinating discharge plans in partnership with the care team.

Qualifications

Experience

• A minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Experience in an acute care environment is preferred.

Education

• An Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• A current Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State of Texas or a Compact Registered Nursing License. If you hold a Compact License, a Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required as per our healthcare policy.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
