Job Description
Step into the Lab Where Clean Begins
Imagine starting your day in a bright, organized lab that powers some of the most trusted home and pool brands across North America. As our Quality Control Laboratory Technologist, you’ll make confident, data-backed decisions that keep every batch on spec and every customer safe.
A Day in Your Role6:00 am: You’re calibrating balances, pH meters, and titration equipment so your measurements are razor-sharp from the first test onward. A quick check confirms lab systems and retains are in order.
Mid-morning: Wet chemistry and titrations are underway on raw materials and in‑process samples. You verify physical and chemical properties against drawings/specs, carefully recording every detail in lab notebooks, spreadsheets, and our quality systems.
Late morning: You spot an out‑of‑spec result, quickly communicate it to production and quality leadership, and help kick off a basic root‑cause review with clear, concise data.
Afternoon: You audit in‑process inspections on the floor to confirm test methods and specifications are being followed, assist with addressing quality defects, and escalate quality events to supervision and Quality Management when needed.
End of day: You tidy the lab, reorder reagents and supplies, update retain labels and storage, and document calibration activities—leaving the workspace safe, clean, and ready for tomorrow.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 am–4:30 pm, with additional overtime as needed per business need.
What You’ll Tackle- Execute analytical methods (titrations and other wet chemistry) per procedures and project guidelines—on time and with precision.
- Test raw materials, in‑process, and finished goods for required physical/chemical properties to ensure conformance.
- Document findings, conclusions, and recommendations; promptly communicate OOS conditions to production and quality leadership.
- Own the Quality Retain / First Sample Retention Program—labeling, storage, and disposition of retains and samples.
- Keep the lab orderly; track and order reagents and supplies.
- Perform and document routine checks/calibrations on balances, pH meters, titration equipment, and more.
- Support investigations and basic root‑cause analysis for non‑conforming product and help drive corrective actions.
- Audit production in‑process inspections for proper documentation and adherence to quality control methods/specs; assist in addressing defects and escalate quality events when appropriate.
- Champion safety and housekeeping; follow all lab and plant safety programs and PPE requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or college chemistry coursework strongly preferred.
- 2+ years in quality, lab, or QA within a manufacturing or chemical setting.
- Comfort reading technical documents, specifications, drawings, and SOPs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for data entry, trending, and basic reporting.
- Meticulous documentation, strong attention to detail, and skill at juggling multiple tests in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work around fumes/chemicals with required PPE; stand for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package including health, wellness, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. Plan for the future with retirement savings options and employer match, and take advantage of Education Assistance to continue growing your skills.
