This full-time itinerant role offers you the chance to make a lasting difference, partnering directly with schools and districts to provide essential services in Bond, Fayette, and Montgomery counties. Key Qualifications:

  • Illinois certification as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility
  • Strong background working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various grade levels
  • Ability to adapt communication styles and support based on individual student needs
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage an itinerant schedule across multiple sites
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Bond, Fayette, and Montgomery counties
  • Commitment to collaboration with general educators, service providers, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing within school settings
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Support students’ language acquisition, literacy, and academic achievement
  • Equip and empower staff with strategies and tools to facilitate classroom access
  • Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust interventions as needed
  • Foster inclusive environments through advocacy and training for school personnel
