Job Title: Scientist III

Location: Worcester, MA

Duration: 06+ Months

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform protein separation and fractionation using KTA, HPLC, UPLC, and related chromatography systems
• Characterize protein size and charge variants and analyze protein fractions
• Perform LC-MS including intact/reduced protein mass analysis and peptide mapping
• Support sequence verification and post-translational modification (PTM) identification
• Perform biophysical characterization including DSC
• Design and execute analytical method development and investigation experiments
• Support raw material analysis using IR, NIR, Raman, or other vibrational spectroscopy
• Support mass spectrometry-based metabolomics studies
• Optimize analytical methods and troubleshoot instruments and analytical assays
• Generate reliable and reproducible analytical data
• Document experiments and results in ELN
• Prepare protocols, method development reports, and technical characterization reports
• Maintain and troubleshoot KTA, HPLC, and laboratory equipment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams while following safety, quality, and corporate standards

Must Have Skills:

• Strong hands-on HPLC, UPLC, and liquid chromatography experience
• Hands-on KTA or similar protein purification/separation experience
• Protein separation and analytical characterization
• Biologics / large-molecule analysis
• LC-MS / protein mass spectrometry
• Protein structure and PTM knowledge
• Analytical separation techniques
• Analytical method development, optimization, and troubleshooting
• Strong communication, documentation, organization, and multitasking skills

Nice To Have Skills:

• CE-SDS, icIEF, or CZE
• Protein biophysical characterization and DSC
• Waters or Agilent HPLC systems
• Intact/reduced protein mass analysis
• Peptide mapping by LC-MS
• Bioinformatics tools for mass spectrometry data analysis
• IR, NIR, or Raman spectroscopy
• Multivariate analysis

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree: Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related technical discipline with typically 5+ years of relevant experience
• Master's Degree: Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related technical discipline with typically 2+ years of relevant experience
