General Supply Specialist (Ammunition).

Position Summary: The Ammunition Supply Officer is responsible for the effective and secure management of ammunition supply operations at a U.S. Army supply point, ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining accountability, and optimizing logistics processes. Responsibilities Oversee the adequacy of ammunition supply point operations. Ensure munitions facilities and operations are conducted in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures. Utilize automated supply system reports and data to resolve problems and improve warehouse procedures. Promote improvements in ammunition procedures across multiple commodity areas for logistics. Monitor the disposal of suspended munitions and coordinate with personnel on unserviceable ammunition to determine sites of destruction. Resolve questions concerning ammunition usage. Coordinate with ammunition personnel on training requirements and stock availability. Approve or disapprove the issuance of ammunition. Interpret regulations related to accountability and control of ammunition storage. Monitor personnel to ensure operational loads are properly requisitioned, received, stored, issued, or retrograded. Ensure munitions stocks are correctly accounted for during requisitioning, receiving, issuing, and storage. Analyze workload data to develop long‑range schedules and work requirements. Determine resource requirements necessary to accomplish long‑range work schedules. Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of ammunition supply operations. Ensure organizational compliance with physical security requirements while operating an ammunition supply point. Qualifications Appointment is subject to a suitability or fitness determination, including a completed background investigation. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret (Tier 3) security clearance for the duration of employment. Successful completion of a pre‑employment physical and those with a suitable physical background must be identified. Acceptance of on‑call and irregular work hours. Competence in drug testing and adherence to the Army Drug Free Workplace Program. Authorization to carry firearms and ammunition under applicable domestic violence laws. Eligible to apply under federal employment categories such as disabled veterans, current Department of Army civilians, military spouses, and other relevant categories. Employment Conditions Position is a term appointment with a maximum of 13 months, extendable based on administrative need. Probationary period: one year, subject to termination with limited appeal rights. Non‑compensatory benefits include social insurance, federal retirement, and duty‑station entitlements, as applicable.
