Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for accurately entering prescription or medication orders into a pharmacy computer system to ensure safe dispensing and proper billing. This role supports pharmacists and helps maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.


Shift : Monday - Friday (8:30am-5pm), Onsite


Location : Plano, TX


Responsibilities:

• Enter new prescription orders into pharmacy software systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
• Makes requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacist.
  Resolve insurance and billing information
• Enters data into the computer system, recording prescriptions, purchase orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements.
• Identify incomplete or unclear prescriptions
• Communicate with prescribers' offices for clarification
• Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
• Route completed entries to pharmacist for verification
• Document interventions and notes when required

Requirements :

• Must be registered and nationally certified
• Must have 2 years of previous or current experience in a retail setting
• Strong data entry accuracy
• Knowledge of pharmacy abbreviations (SIG codes)
• Familiarity with brand and generic medications
• Understanding of insurance processing
• Excellent attention to detail
