Unit: Cath Lab Tech
• How many rooms do you have? We have3 cath labs in Bryan and 2 cath labs in College Station, but primarily run 2 rooms at one time in Bryan and 1 in College Station.
• About how many cases per day? It varies but we can have 12 cases in one day but there is usually 4-6 cases minimum per day at Bryan, typically College Station has 4-6 caes per week.
• EP? We do EP cases. ICD's, Pacemakers, Ablations (A-Flutter, SVT, A-Fib) usually on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Bryan.
• IR? We do not do specials/IR. There is a separate area that does those procedures. We do perform peripheral and neuro cases too in our labs at Bryan/ Peripheral in College Station, Neuro only in Bryan. Nursing does pre, post op some IR cases at the College Station location.
• Circulating? Our RN's circulate cases and monitor cases. We have 3 people per case, during the day. Circulating RN, Scrub Tech and someone on the monitor. On Call we have a 4 man team, a monitor, scrub and 2 RNs.
• Monitoring? We use Merge Hemodynamics and documentation system . In October 2026, we will move to EPIC Gold for documentation and keep Merge only for hemodynamics. All staff are cross-trained to monitor cases
• Scrubbing? We have RCIS and RT techs that scrub cases. Specifically looking for a scrub traveler who can perform routine cath procedures, including peripheral, stroke, and has experience in scrubbing EP, to include LAAO.
• Common Cases: Cardiac, Peripheral, Neuro & Traumatic embolization patient care, EP and Carotids (which are performed at College Station). Nursing also circulates Loop Recorders, Cardioversions and TEE.
• Looking for candidates with pre or post op experience. IR experience would be helpful, including experience with emergent stroke cases (registered nurses only).
