Office Assistant 1 Stores and Mail (NY HELPS)

Responsibilities Storehouse, Commissary, and state shop coverage, including but not limited to issuing commissary items, laundry, receiving daily deliveries, stock rotation, issuing stock items to facility offices, tool control, inventory control, and other duties discussed during interview. Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). There are no minimum education or experience requirements for this title. For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, the title may be filled via a non‑competitive appointment; this means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date, employees hired under NY HELPS may have their non‑competitive employment status converted to competitive status without competing in an examination, and will then be afforded the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.
