Registered Respiratory Therapist Part Time Peds

Job Summary and Qualifications Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Care Supervisor, provides respiratory care services to patients of all ages in accordance with accepted respiratory care practices and established departmental and hospital guidelines. Participates in providing patient‑specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction. Essential Responsibilities Prioritizes work appropriately and completes assignments in a timely fashion. Completes all required documentation with special attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrates competency in proper airway care including airway suctioning, oral and nasal airway care, cuff pressure monitoring, and extubation. Demonstrates competency in routine patient assessment and correctly recognizes and interprets respiratory dysfunction. Performs quality control procedures as required. Employee’s conduct reflects the company’s values and a commitment to the Code of Conduct ethics and compliance program. Gains competency in new procedures in a timely manner as they are incorporated into departmental practices. Other duties as assigned, including periodic assignment as a shift’s Lead Therapist. Reflects SDH Service Excellence standards in every interaction. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 90 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Neonate Resuscitation obtained within 90 days of employment start date. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
