Background: SAP BW Platform Support Team
The
SAP BW Platform Support Team
is a specialized Finance Technology and Data Analytics team responsible for operational stability, production support, data ingestion, reporting services, and continuous modernization of the SAP BW ecosystem supporting Finance, Treasury, Corporate, Trust Fund, and enterprise reporting functions. The team operates as a product-oriented support and delivery organization with shared accountability for platform stability, service reliability, reporting continuity, and modernization readiness. The team supports both Run-the-Bank (RTB) operations and strategic transformation initiatives including the BW Upgrade to BW/4HANA and Business Objects Exit Program. The current landscape consists of SAP BW on HANA, Analysis for Office (AO), BEx Queries, Business Objects (Webi), SAP ECC extractors, BODS integrations, Databricks Lakehouse, DBT transformations, Azure Data Factory orchestration, and Power BI analytics solutions supporting numerous financial and operational reporting functions.

Data Load Monitoring
Recovery
Master Data and Transaction Data Loads
Process Chains and Data Transfer Processes
SAP Extractors and BODS Jobs
BEx Queries and Analysis for Office
Business Objects/Web Intelligence Reports
Production Support and Incident Resolution
Reporting Enhancements
Databricks and DBT Integration Support
BW/4HANA Upgrade Readiness and Modernization Activities
The SAP BW Platform Support POD consists of seven TOR profiles specifically designed to ensure production stability while preparing the organization for BW/4HANA modernization.
Operating Principles for SAP BW Platform Support POD
Operate as one integrated support and delivery pod with shared accountability for platform stability and service reliability.
Support both production operations and modernization initiatives.
Use Azure DevOps and SAFe Agile delivery practices for backlog transparency, sprint planning, and PI execution.
Maintain rigorous operational documentation, runbooks, support procedures, and KT artifacts.
Follow structured incident, problem, and change management processes.
Ensure continuity of critical finance and treasury reporting services.
