Molecular Genetics Technologist I-III (Clinical Lab)

Location: Houston, TX (Onsite) Duration: 6+ months C2H-Multiple Openings

Summary: Conducts high complexity molecular tests in the treatment and diagnosis of genetic diseases

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Performs clinical testing in compliance with CAP, NY, CLIA regulations.
• Troubleshoots assay performance.
• Operates and maintains the laboratory equipment, maintains the lab following 5S standards.
• Performs QC and informs manager/supervisor immediately if systems deviate from the laboratory's established specification.
• Maintains laboratory stock levels and restocking supplies.
• Trains new employees as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Adheres to the Code of Conduct as outlined in the clients Compliance Program.

Qualifications:

• Molecular Genetics Technologist I
• Degree: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology
• Relevant experience: 0-2 years
• Certification (preferred): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
• Molecular Genetics Technologist II
• Degree: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology
• Relevant experience: 2-4 years
• Certification (required): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
• OR
• Degree: Master's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology
• Relevant experience: 0-2 years
• Certification (required): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
• Molecular Genetics Technologist III
• Degree: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology
• Relevant experience: 4-6 years
• Certification (required): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
• OR
• Degree: Master's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology
• Relevant experience: 2-4 years
• Certification (required): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
• OR
• Degree: PhD in a scientific discipline or medical technology
• Relevant experience: 0-2 years
• Certification (required): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
