This full-time contract opportunity spans from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027, giving you the chance to work directly with an engaged student population in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Your focus will be empowering high school students to realize their educational goals while collaborating with staff and families to foster personal, social, and academic growth. Qualifications

• Current Michigan education certificate with School Counselor Endorsement (must be active)
• Previous experience as a high school academic counselor or similar school-based counseling position preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills
• Commitment to student advocacy, confidentiality, and inclusiveness

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide academic counseling support to high school students
• Organize and facilitate individual and group meetings to discuss academic planning, course selection, and college/career readiness
• Address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs in collaboration with educators and families
• Maintain student records and documentation per school and state requirements
• Advocate for student well-being and achievement through proactive interventions and programs
• Participate in ongoing professional development and school initiatives
