Job Summary
The organization is seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Cardiovascular (CVICU) registered nurse for a travel assignment in the acute cardiac intermediate unit. This role involves providing specialized care to patients with cardiovascular conditions, including those requiring advanced intervention and monitoring, in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in CVICU or cardiac ICU settings and the ability to work independently while supporting a multidisciplinary team.

Job Details

• Position: RN - ICU OH (Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular)
• Location: Involves care for patients with cardiovascular issues, including those post-TAVR, Ablations, and heart failure, among others.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 10/12/2026 and ending 01/11/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois license or confirmation of application process, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, at least 2 years of CVICU or cardiac ICU experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification, CCRN or PCCN certification.
• Additional Requirements: Must be proficient in cardiovascular ICU components, including vent management, titration of drips such as dopamine, dobutamine, vasopressors, sedation, and insulin; capable of reading and interpreting telemetry strips.
• Shift & Scheduling: Shifts are 12 hours (7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), with every other weekend required and holiday coverage every other holiday. There are no specific call or standby requirements.
• Float Requirement: Float to every level of care, including ICU if needed, with full teams.
• Additional Notes: Must be able to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments, with strong assessment skills and critical thinking. Prior experience with advanced cardiovascular equipment such as Swan-Ganz catheters, external pacemakers, and ventilators is essential.
