Job Opportunity

Position Summary

This position requires a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist responsible for various surgical tech duties, including the preparation of sterile fields, assisting surgeons, and maintaining equipment functionality. There is a requirement for on-call rotation and weekend availability.

• Schedule: Day Shift 5x8-Hour (06:45 - 15:15)
• On-call rotation: At least 1 day per week and 1 weekend per month

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the sterile field for surgical operations, which includes setting up sterile instruments.
• Assist surgeons with gowning, gloving, and draping patients for surgery.
• Support the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and supplies, holding retractors, and anticipating the surgeons' needs.
• Manage supply distribution and perform maintenance and testing of surgical equipment.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety.
• Perform specific procedures and assist with training and orientation of new staff.

Qualifications

• Certification: BLS and CST are required; NBSTSA certification is mandatory.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a surgical tech role is required.
• Preferred experience in Trauma Level I or II settings.
• Familiarity with charting systems, particularly in a community hospital setting, is a plus.

• Abdominal hysterectomy
• Cholecystectomy
• C-sections
• Orthopedic surgeries
• Endoscopic procedures
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterilization processes.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Ability to handle high-stress situations while providing optimal patient care.

Patient Care Details

• Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
• Interdisciplinary Support Services available: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, and more.

Compliance and Onboarding

• Complete necessary labs within 3-5 days of contract signing.
• Documentation of a 7-year work history verification is required.
• All compliance documents must be submitted 10 days prior to the start date.
