Registered Nurse

A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The Registered Nurse is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework. The Registered Nurse supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Utilizing the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the Registered Nurse has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. The Registered Nurse focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The Registered Nurse applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition.
• Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions.
• Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care.
• Reviews and revises the plan as indicated.
• Collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services.
• Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family.
• Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions.
• Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient/family needs.
• Demonstrates and encourages teamwork.
• Identifies and appropriately communicates opportunities for improvement.
• Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts.
• Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards.
• Participates in the Practice Governance model.

Required Skills:

• Two years of acute care Registered Nurse experience.

Required Education:

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN).

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Registered Nurse with BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS.
