About the Position

License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, MANDT or CPI required. Must-Have: - Trauma Informed Care Training required. - Zero Suicide Training required. - Missouri Children's Division background check required. Description: This role involves working in an acute in-patient behavioral health setting. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to pediatric patients with various behavioral health issues. Staffing ratios are 1 nurse for every 12 patients. The position requires every Sunday shift or every Friday shift, or every other Friday shift. The nurse will cover 8-12 patients, supporting medication passes and guiding the overall unit. Behavioral Health Technicians will provide direct observation and documentation on patients. Experience with trauma-informed care and crisis intervention is essential. Knowledge of patient seclusion protocols and the use of restraints is critical. The role also requires familiarity with various medication administration methods. Candidates will need skills in interpreting lab values and performing blood glucose monitoring. Experience in managing and de-escalating behavioral crises is essential. The patient population includes those with anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, eating disorders, and autism. Emergency care knowledge, including CPR, is necessary. The nurse will not be required to float between departments. Local candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius. RTO restrictions apply. Compliance deadlines and module completion are required prior to beginning the role.
